Survival of the Fittest, the debut full-length album by Italian folk metal octet Krampus will be here in just two more days!

As you might recall, back in June I shared the announcement of the album title, artwork, and tracklisting. This came on the heels of a pair of reviews of the band’s prior works: the Shadows of Our Times EP from March 2011 and the Kronos’ Heritage EP from August 2011.

Well, since then, there’s been a flurry of activity in anticipation of the new album’s official release (via Noise Art Records) on the 24th of August…

First of all, the band launched a brand new website. Check it out for all the latest news and information in the world of the Krampus.

Then, they put out a video trailer for the Survival album:

If that wasn’t enough to get you excited about the album, the band also assembled a track-by-track walkthrough video, with commentary from singer Filippo and violinist Marika:

The album’s first single, “Kronos’ Heritage” (a re-recorded version of the song from the earlier EP of the same name), can be heard here:

…or if you’d prefer to download the track, you can do so for FREE if you sign up for the Noise Art newsletter (here)!

…AND, the official video for “Kronos’ Heritage” is right here:

To top it all off, you can also stream the album’s second single, “Unspoken,” right here:

Singer Filippo comments:

“Unspoken” is about frustration. Frustration of being a young guy who lives in this global crisis period, with the will to do something, to be realized and to prove his worth, and that is instead entangled in a world that negates him this chance.

There’s no work, global economy is falling, corruption and injustice are everywhere, there’s not enough space for those who would just like to act and build. It’s not fair that fathers feels like losers even if they work hard because the cannot look after those whom they care.

Survival of the Fittest is available for pre-order through various channels, and links to all of them have conveniently been collected on this page.
