Ion Vein to Open for Testament; Celebrate With a Free 3-Song Download!

Chicago based metallers ION VEIN will be making their return to the stage in a big way, opening for the legendary TESTAMENT at The Fuel Room in Libertyville, IL on Friday, February 10th. In a statement released from the band: “We’re very excited to announce that our first show in support of IV v1.0, and our debut show with Scott and Rob, will be sharing the stage with the mighty TESTAMENT and Chicago’s upstart thrashers DIAMOND PLATE. This is the perfect way to kick the IV v1.0 release cycle into high gear and we can’t wait to dial everything up live with all of you once again!”

Keep on reading for more information, including a free “DR” (Digital Release) download of the first three songs from the band’s upcoming album!

These Chicagoans play good old-fashioned heavy metal, but accented with flavors that owe just as much to thrash as to the grunge movement that supposedly killed it off. After having a couple albums under their belts, Ion Vein has recently undergone a major line-up change, and are anxious to start getting their new tunes out there!

If you live in the area, it looks like this will be a pretty killer show. For the rest of us, though, we don’t have to miss out entirely, because there are three great songs available totally free, courtesy of Mortal Music. The concept of the “DR” is intended to disseminate an album in several pieces, to give you just a little taste at a time. Once all the songs are out there, the whole thing will be made available on CD, but for now, we’ve got IV v1.0 (click here for the download page – there is also a space to enter your email address to receive updates, but this is completely optional).

We’ve been through quite a lot since the release of Reigning Memories in 2003, and the only thing that kept us going was the belief in the strength of the new material, so we hope you enjoy it… and remember to crank it loud!
