What To Do In Pittsburgh Tonight (22 November 2012)

Happy Thanksgiving, y’all!

Turkey and beer and football and… every obnoxious relative that you only see on holidays, which you only need to spend about five minutes with them to remember why you only see them on holidays.

If this sounds familiar, later this evening you’re probably going to be looking for something — anything — as an excuse to get out of the house for a while.

As luck would have it, there’s a show happening later that might be just what the doctor ordered.

Jeff the Brotherhood are a stoner/garage rock guitar-and-drums duo from Nashville. I got a chance to see these guys last summer when they came to town as part of the Pentagram tour. They put on a pretty energetic and intense show, definitely worth checking out.

Coincidentally, that was the same show where I saw local stoner punks Low Man for the first time. I’ve talked about those dudes a few times since then, and they’re also definitely worth checking out.

Both of those bands will be appearing in Bloomfield tonight, alongside Dewey Marquee — who I have to admit is a name that’s unfamiliar to me, and according to the Facebook event page, apparently the internet isn’t going to help you or me in that regard.

But anyway, this is happening in a few hours — wake up from your carb nap and get your ass out there. It’ll definitely be better than watching your crazy uncles argue or whatever else you’ve got for entertainment tonight.
